Superb kit
Including 4 white porcelain ramekins, a 20cm square baking tin and a chromed wire interior rack to keep the ramekins in place during baking, this useful kit makes it easy to whip up perfectly baked French custard desserts every time. The ingenious metal rack suspends the 4 ramekins in the water during baking, ensuring steady heat circulation around them for even, creamy results, while the uncoated, aluminised steel pan provides even heat distribution.
The ramekins are made of flame-proof ceramic so you can use a grill or a blowtorch to create a crisp caramelised top without damaging them, while the non-stick coating allows you to easily release each pudding and makes cleaning effortless when you’re finished. The ramekins are also suitable for other dishes, such as savoury baked eggs, while the square tin can also be used as a normal baking tin without the rack insert.
Easy to use
Simply mix your ingredients and portion the mixture into the porcelain ramekins, then place them into the metal rack within the baking tin, fill the tin with water and bake in the oven. Once they’re ready, carefully remove the ramekins and allow them to set, then sprinkle the tops with sugar and use a blow torch or pop them under a grill to caramelise the sugar topping.
